Yes, I know Rathbone's and Cushing's versions of Holmes were great in the role, but for the vast amount of UK viewers, Jeremy Brett was the eponymous Victorian consulting detective. This is a box set well worth adding to your movie collection.

Indeed, it would be if I didn't have it already. 
For me Rathbone defined the role but Brett was in some ways better. I never really cared for Cushing's version but he made a great contribution to the original Star Wars "Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances."
