I just finished Antony Beevor's excellent book about the siege of Stalingrad. In his usual style, Beevor provides the reader with a comprehensive overview of the initial invasion of Russia by German forces, the battles before Moscow, the counterattacks by the Russians during the winter of 1941, the relaunching of the attack on the city of Stalingrad and the ultimate defeat of Von Paulus and the German Sixth Army in 1942-1943. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn more about the Eastern Front.
