As Harry aptly noted, historical paintings may be enjoyed more for the spirit and emotion they convey than their sense of realism.  Toward that end, there are many painting of various Napoleonic battle moments that I find enjoyable and a source of some inspiration for future diorama scenes.  So I thought I would commission this thread, as a bit of a spin off on my old Napoleonic Paintings thread with one that I found quite interesting.  The painting below is rather eclectic scene from the Battle of Salamanca.  I particularly like the way this painting captures the passion of that moment and hope to fashion something similar eventually.

Great scenes Guy.   Naturally I especially like the second one. :D   I would love to have some Spanish buildings for that one and my favorite battle of Fuentes de Oñoro.

I think at $78, this represents pretty fair value for money. Opinions one way or the other requested...please.

I think that is a fair price and it does look pretty good Harry.  It just doesn't fit the scenes I want to do.  For those I will need full buildings with access to the interiors, not just building fronts like this.

Please let me know if you track any down Bill.

Personally speaking, I prefer facades because of space issues and I might order this one along with some other JJD items around June/July direct from Hong Kong. Despite being sent from HK it'll still be regarded as an import, (same as flights from the Mainland to HK are still classed as "International"), but I'll save a fortune on import duty and if the box is small enough, it might just fly under the Customs radar.

:)

PS. I also like some of the facades in the catalog that Carlos sent me. Might be worth contacting him for 3D buildings and structures.

What did Carlos send you?  I am definitely looking for some Peninsula buildings.

Thanks for the catalogue HarryContinuing with the thread, here is a classic scene from Vitoria that would require some walls and buildings and some new or modified British foot poses.

The following two shots are from a Osprey reproduction of the scene but provide a closer view of the action.
