There are several actors I like; there are also a select few whom I consider to be giants of the movie screen who can play just about any role.

Jimmy Stewart definitely falls into that category.

One of his very best....

Can't be too many going around who's imaginary friends happen to be 6-foot tall rabbits.

An excellent movie. I preferred him in flight of the Phoenix for me, his best role

It is hard to go wrong with Jimmy.  As I said on the Man Who Knew Too Much tread, I have been rediscovering his films as well lately.  My all time favorite is The Philadelphia Story.  Some of his others that I have enjoyed lately and would recommend without reservation include

Vertigo

Rear Window

Anatomy of a Murder

Strategic Air Command

Winchester 73

Broken Arrow

No HIghway in the Sky

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

Two Rode Together

The Naked Spur

Choices of personal top 10 movies are always a bit dynamic as it kind of depends, but for me, TMWSLV is in my top 10 every time.

I have trouble with my own top 10 movie list since I like so many movies for so many different reasons.  Often it simply depends on my mood.  TMWSLV is indeed a classic with Stewart and Wayne.  In fact it would be a classic for that reason alone since despite being long time friends, it is the only movie in which they appeared together.

I watched it yet again only last week. It's got absolutely everything I look for in a movie. If I were to list them all out, then I'd be here all night -- but I've got other interesting things to do. That Verlinden detail set I've been waiting for turned up this morning at long last.

:)
