Guys,

I wanted to wish everyone on "this side of the pond" a fun and festive Independence Day!  I know that we all honor the memories of those who have served in our armed forces, but I wanted to pay a special tribute to the American patriots (our Yankee Doodles) who sacrificed so much (think of the harsh winter at Valley Forge) in the establishment of our great country.  This was America's historical version of Brexit!

Up with the Colonials!  Down with the British!  Here, here!

Alex II :)

Makes me want to buy that George Washington figures from FL I've been thinking about  forever.  Just put my US flag out and on this day I always fly my don't tread on me flag in honor of those first  patriots and the founding of this great land.

I don't hold any ill will towards the British, all though they are the only foreign power to march on and burn our Capital. :o   I lived off Fort Ave years back and walked and jogged around Ft Mchenry everyday before or after work,  just loved that Ft and still do.   GOD bless America.

Here! Here!

Glad we have made friends with our former "oppressors" and hope our special relationship remains strong.

My weekend has been interesting. Started off at the funeral of an aunt who was like my grandmother and the matriarch of our "clan." Her husband was 30th ID, and I have mentioned his story of being wounded just before the BoB kicked off and road a truck out to England the night before. Got to spend some time with him and couple of other vets from the 30th while I was there.

Then my in-laws returned from Normandy where they went to a special service and toured both Sword and Omaha. Spent much of yesterday going through the pictures and talking to my in-laws about it.

WIll be stuck inside due to the rain today, but grateful to live in the US even though we are going through "interesting times" these days.

I like that idea.

Both, now that you mention it, but was talking about the GW figure.

Happy 4th to all......I am still in the basement trying to clear it out so I can gain my Independence form New Jersey and head to Florida.

My Wife is actually cleaning her closet (S ) and bagging unneeded clothes for charity...I think she has about 15 plastic garbage bags filled so far.

She is far from done,
